ESC_DROP

Escapism — avoiding the unpleasant in life, through reading, thinking; escape from everyday reality into otherness, otherworldliness; escapism — this definition could describe the new ESC_drop. And we really are running. We run into long manual practices from anxiety and turmoil. Into man-made nature and repetitive rhythms, monotonous rituals and actions.

Repetitive actions and the preparation of drapery emerge and express escapism in ESC_drop, complemented by practices of conscious consumption. In this drop we continue to explore used items as a resource and as an opportunity to give them the opportunity to live another life. We draw inspiration from the long and mysterious light paintings of the frames of Casablanca (1942), where in the views of Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman — equally long and mysterious — a person’s internal conflict is fascinated. Poignant moments of reflection about a difficult choice capture and entice us, reflected in the mood of the ESC_drop drop products. And we press the «ESC» button to return to the previous state — to a state that will allow us to escape from the current reality.

ESC_drop refers to repetitive rhythms, monotonous rituals and actions. And our favorite techniques: folds and used items as a resource.

Эскапизм, эскепизм (англ. escape — «сбежать, спастись») — избегание неприятного в жизни путём чтения, размышлений; уход от обыденной реальности в инобытие, инореальность, иномирие; бегство от действительности — этим определением можно было бы описать новый ESC_drop. И мы действительно бежим. Бежим в ручные долгие практики от тревог и смут. В рукотворность и повторяющиеся ритмы, монотонные ритуалы и действия.

Повторяющиеся действия и подготовка драпировок проявляются и выражают эскапизм в ESC_drop, дополняясь практиками осознанного потребления. В данном дропе мы продолжаем использовать вещи бывшие в употреблении как ресурс и даем им возможность прожить еще одну жизнь. Мы черпаем вдохновение в долгих и таинственных световых рисунках кадров «Касабланка» (1942), где во взглядах Хамфри Богарта и Ингрид Бергман — таких же долгих и таинственных — завороженно разрешается внутренний конфликт человека. Тягучие минуты размышлений о сложном выборе захватывают и завлекают нас, отражаясь в настроении изделий дропа ESC_drop. И мы прожимаем кнопку «ESC», чтобы вернуться к предыдущему состоянию — которое позволит нам вырваться из наступившей реальности.

ESC_drop — это повторяющиеся ритмы, монотонные ритуалы и действия. И наши излюбленные приемы: складки и вещи, бывшие в употреблении, как ресурс.

BUGdrop

BUGdrop — new drop. and it’s about shift. and it’s about displacement.

We are watching how the world and its structure are being rebuilt today — and we can’t not to react. We observe its unstable fragility, friability, as if something in it is constantly shifting and failing, and yet we hope for balance. We freeze in this observation and dream of «putting together» something again by creation.

BUGdrop about failures, shifts and displacement not only in a mental, but also in a material format: in the B_3.1 dress we see decorative pleating that has «shift» beyond the shelf. You can leave these accordions along the dress or use them as a belt. B_3.1. — bilateral. We specially made a flat seam so that you can wear it on the «colored», more minimalist side.

We see the same «shift» line in longs. In the B_2 bug product it happened with the hem, which «shift» on one side, and the «tail» option can be on either side. The skirt is made from used trousers and has our favorite slings, which gives a range in size. The edge of the product is decorated with pleats.

B_drop and BUG. For example, we really wanted to make a vest without a visible fastener, but the small hooks we used turned out to be a very unreliable option. Therefore, the vest did not go into production. BUG can also be seen from the filming, which shifted all the time to different times and spaces, like the plissing in B_3.1. or hem in B_2.

The drop also includes products that develop the technology from our previous work 3D_DROP: namely, bags woven from loose men’s shirts, which were provided to us by the Second Wind foundation. We produce these bags in two colors: white and black.

BUGdrop — новый дроп. и он про сдвиг. и он про смещение.

Мы наблюдаем, как сегодня перестраивается мир и его устройство — и не можем не реагировать на это. Наблюдаем за его неустойчивой хрупкостью, рассыпчатостью, будто что-то в нем постоянно смещается и сбоит, и все же надеемся на баланс. Замираем в этом наблюдении и мечтаем через созидание «собрать» что-то снова.

BUGdrop про сбои, сдвиги и про смещение не только в ментальном, но и вполне в материальном формате: в платье B_3.1 мы видим декоративную плиссировку, которая «сместилась» за пределы полочки. Эти гармошки вы можете оставить как вдоль платья, так и использовать как пояс. В_3.1. — двустороннее. Мы специально сделали плоский шов, чтобы вы могли носить его и на «цветную», более минималистичную сторону.

Такую же линию «смещения» мы видим в лонгах. В изделии B_2 bug она случилась с подолом, который «сместился» с одной стороны, а вариант «хвоста» может быть с любой из сторон. Юбка из брюк, бывших в употреблении, и на наших излюбленных стропах, что даёт разбег в размере. Край изделия декорирован плиссе.

B_drop и BUG. Например, нам очень хотелось сделать жилет без видимой застежки, но небольшие крючки, которые мы использовали, оказались очень ненадежным вариантом. Поэтому жилет не пошел в серию. BUG видно и по съемке, которая смещалась все время в разное время и пространство, как плиссировка в В_3.1. или подол в В_2.

В дроп также входят изделия, развивающие технологию из предыдущей нашей работы 3D_DROP: сумки, сотканные из распущенных мужских сорочек, которые нам предоставил фонд «Второе дыхание». Эти сумки мы изготавливаем в двух цветах: белый и черный.

3D_DROP

3D_DROP have become our exploration and reflection on the unknown, transparency and ruggedness contained in life and in fabrics (as in its reflection). In pleating — as a texture and form, and manual practices — as a point of reliance and balance.

3D_DROP is almost completely created based on these two components. For example, in bags and a top from a new drop, we combined transparency and weaving: the handles of the bags and the back of the top are hand-woven from the main material of silk organza, and the padded jackets are created on a loom. Almost all products of the drop are assembled from pleated pleats of various sizes, the lines, and multiplication of which have fascinated us throughout the hole process.

At the same time, in the new drop, we continue to look for solutions to the problem when upcycling or re-made looks complete, does not pay attention to the «aesthetics of poverty», but, on the contrary, creates, in a sense, a new product. So, in a new study, quilted jackets 3D_5.1 appeared. These products are assembled by each of 5 preloved men’s shirts, which are assembled for more than 50 hours, 30 of which are torn shirts by hand into ribbons and collecting them into a single skein, and thein specialist Elena Soldatova weaves 5 canvases on a loom for 15 hours for each padded jacket. Only after that we collect these canvases into a single product and each padded jacket becomes a unique story, torn and reassembled.

P. S. The producer and stylist of the shooting captured the feeling of 3D_DROP, with its ghostliness, anxiety and, therefore, the desire to ground yourself in manual practices.

3D_DROP и новые изделия стали нашим исследованием и размышлением о неизвестности, транспарентности и пересеченности, заключенной в жизни и в тканях (как в ее отражении). В частности, в плиссировке — как фактуре и форме, и ручных практиках — как опоре и балансе.

3D_DROP практически полностью создан на основе этих двух составляющих. Например, в сумках и топе из нового дропа мы соединили прозрачность и ткачество: ручки сумок и спинка топа сплетены вручную из шелковой органзы, а ватники созданы на ткацком станке. Почти все изделия дропа собраны из разного размера плиссе, линии и мультипликации которых нас завораживали на протяжении всего процесса создания.

При этом в новом дропе мы продолжаем искать решение, когда апсайклинг (или переделка) выглядит завершенно, не обращает к «эстетике бедности», а наоборот, создает, в каком-то смысле, новый продукт. Так в новом исследовании появились ватники 3D_5.1. Каждое изделие собирается вручную из пяти preloved мужских сорочек более 50 часов, 30 из которых занимают разрывы сорочек вручную на ленты и связывания их в единый моток. Затем специалист Елена Солдатова на ткацком станке ткёт в течение 15 часов для каждого ватника 5 полотен. Только после этого мы собираем полотна в единое изделие, и каждый ватник становится уникальной историей, разорванной и собранной вновь.

W_DROP

Through the new drop, we thought about how often history repeats itself. Everything that’s happening today we already saw: running, losing a landmark, changing cultural epochs. But at the same time, we want to live like never before. We would like to be in sequins and rhinestones. Therefore, the aesthetics of silent movies, cabaret and sadness have leaked into our products. And although the topic we broadcast is not easy, things from W_DROP are convenient and effective.

Yes, we love the black color. But never before have we had such a «dark» collection. Through our shooting, it is clear that we are mourning the situation in which we all find ourselves in this way. Clothes from the new drop — the experience of what is happening around.

The inspiration of our collection was Alexander Vertinsky — a man of amazing destiny. His understanding of life as a theater where we are all puppets and jesters; his poetic experience of death and life; the tears and tragedies of his time; and at the same time, a passionate desire to live and be in his native land — these are the things that we drew from his biography and were inspired to make a small drop. And we believe that love will save the world. And we, romantics, believe that beauty and poetry will save the world.

Через новый дроп мы думали о том, как часто история повторяется. Что все то, что происходит сегодня, уже было: бег, потеря ориентира, смена культурных эпох (все это уже описывал и Булгаков, и Вертинский, и многие другие). Но и при этом как никогда хочется жить. Хочется быть в пайетках и стразах. Поэтому в наши изделия просочилась эстетика немого кино, кабаре и печали. И хотя тема, которую мы транслируем, нелегка, вещи из W_DROP удобны и эффектны.

Да, мы любим черный цвет. Но никогда ранее у нас не было настолько «чёрной» коллекции. Через нашу съемку видно, что мы таким образом оплакиваем ситуацию, в которой мы все с вами оказались. Одежда из нового дропа — переживание происходящего вокруг.

Вдохновением нашей коллекции стал Александр Вертинский — удивительной судьбы человек. Его понимание жизни как театра, где все мы марионетки и шуты; его поэтическое переживание о смерти и жизни; слезы и трагедии его времени; и при этом страстное желание жить и быть на родной земле — вот те вещи которые мы черпали из его биографии и вдохновились на небольшой дроп. И мы верим, что мир спасёт любовь. А ещё мы, романтики, верим, что мир спасёт красота и поэзия.

In the new drop, we set the task of showing the elegance of vintage clothing in its new interpretation. R_DROP inspired by the lines of a classic shirt, a simple t-shirt of loved one, reworked and updated trousers from old collections. Often, when working in upcycling technology, they come up with a cool idea, but forget about aesthetics and quality. In the new drop, we wanted to show upcycling, or rather remade, elegant and even luxurious. The portrait of Zinaida Gippius helped us to keep the focus on elegance — she followed us and guided us with her persistent gaze.

We were able to realize our love for multifunctional things thanks to a large number of buttons. We invite you to the game: you can fasten any shirt to our new long sleeves. You also can just unfasten the sleeve and fasten your partner’s shirt. Practicality and freedom to experiment in our new drop: re-fastening and interacting with clothes like a game. The taciturnity of black and white is traditional for the brand, as we offer things that are complex in shape. However, we can make a shirt-dress from your colored shirts and their combination can be infinite — from two stripes to a pattern of flowers and checks in one piece.

Our main mood and inspiration was the memory of things. Often the shirt or T-shirt of a loved one brings us back to happy moments and memories, and we want to help you keep them. The history of things, their form, the possibilities of transformation — this is an exciting journey of the new R_DROP.

В новом дропе мы ставили перед собой задачу показать элегантность винтажной одежды в ее новом прочтении. R_DROP — это вдохновение линиями классической сорочки, простой футболки близкого человека, переработанные и обновлённые брюки из старых коллекций. Часто в технологии апсайклинг придумывают классную идею, но забывают про эстетику и качество. В новом дропе мы хотели показать апсайклинг, а точнее переделку (remade) изящным и даже роскошным. Удерживать фокус внимания на элегантности нам помогал портрет Зинаиды Гиппиус, она своим настойчивым взглядом следила за нами и направляла нас.

Нашу любовь к многофункциональным вещам мы смогли реализовать благодаря большому количеству пуговиц. И мы приглашаем вас в игру: вы можете пристегнуть любую рубашку к нашим новым лонгсливам. А можете просто отстегнуть рукав и пристегнуть рубашку партнера. Практичность и свобода для эксперимента в нашем новом дропе: перестёгивание и взаимодействие с одеждой, как игра.

Немногословность черного и белого цвета традиционна для бренда, так как мы предлагаем сложные по форме вещи. Но мы можем изготовить платье-рубашку из ваших цветных рубашек, и сочетание их может быть разнообразным — от двух полосок до паттерна из цветов и клеток в одной вещи.

Dive with a head. Dive into the network during isolation and quarantine days. I, like you, had to keep in touch with the world via the Internet. Via digital ocean.

Of course I used all services before quarantine, but right now I felt completely immersed. I felt like a fisherman who throws his net. Sometimes there is only rubbish in this network, sometimes real wealth (like art, which always inspires me).

Even in the days of quarantine, I met with loneliness and it was a reason that I wanted to dress up. Not for myself. For someone else. But at the same time, I revised my wardrobe and realized that I have enough things for the next 10 years, so I decided to make agender capsule — a minimum of things, a maximum of variations for you and your boyfriend.

I also make a capsule so as not to lose my skills and I wound be busy. To be in the stream.

The brand’s things are always performative, and this time they also have a game and performance. Now I believe that we are all like Ama, like Japanese pearl divers or fisherwomen. Their nets, endurance, and patience became the inspiration for this capsule.

I also hope that this imprisonment ends and I want to save a little memory about this experience. Maybe you too.

Нырок с головой. Погружение в сеть в дни изоляции и карантина. Мне, как и тебе, пришлось держать связи с миром через интернет. Через digital ocean. Конечно я пользовалась всеми сервисами и до карантина, но именно сейчас я почувствовала своё полное погружение. Я почувствовала себя рыбаком, который закидывает свою сеть. Иногда в этой сети только мусор, иногда настоящие богатства (как искусство, которое меня всегда вдохновляет).

Ещё в дни карантина я встретилась с одиночеством и именно от этого мне захотелось наряжаться. Не для себя. Для кого-то ещё. Но при этом я пересмотрела свой гардероб и поняла что у меня достаточно вещей на ближайшие лет 10, поэтому я решила сделать именно агендерную капсулу — минимум вещей, максимум вариаций и для тебя и твоего парня.

Еще я делаю капсулу чтобы не терять навыки и быть занятой — лично меня на плаву всегда держит дело. Быть в потоке.

Вещи бренда всегда несколько перформативны, и в этот раз так же в них есть игра и представление. Сейчас я верю, что мы все как Ама, как японские ныряльщицы за жемчугом или рыбаки. Их сети, выносливость и терпение стали вдохновением этой капсулы.

Ещё надеюсь, что это заточение заканчивается и хочется оставить небольшую память об этом опыте. Возможно тебе тоже.
